What "Whippy" Actually Describes
A whippy tip is the opposite mismatch — a tip section bending more than a golfer's transition speed can control. On the rig, this reads as high deflection paired with a longer recovery time relative to the swing's timing window. On the course, it often produces inconsistent face angle at impact, a flighty or ballooning trajectory, and a strike that feels unstable even when contact was reasonably centered.
