Driver Fitting

No club in the bag shows a wider distance swing between a good fit and a bad one, and it's usually the one club golfers still buy straight off the rack. A tip-first driver session is typically the largest single gain available in one sitting.

What We Capture

Your Delivery First, Then the Tip, Then the Ball

We start with a short set of swings on your current driver to establish transition speed and load timing — before a single demo shaft comes off the wall. From there, candidate shafts go on the tip zone rig for deflection, recovery time, and taper ratio, narrowing the field before we ever hit a ball with a tracking unit running.

Only once the tip shortlist is set do we move outdoors when the season allows it, where ball speed, launch, spin, and carry confirm the rig results hold up under a real swing in real air.

What Actually Changes in a Driver Session

Tip Deflection & Recovery

We match how much the terminal section bends under your specific transition, and how quickly it snaps back, before considering anything else about the shaft.

Taper Ratio

How steeply the shaft narrows toward the tip changes how load concentrates through your release, even between two shafts with the same tip diameter.

Total Weight & Balance

Shaft weight shapes swing timing as much as any single spec. We match a weight class to your transition before layering in tip response.

Loft & Face Angle

Adjustable hosels let us dial loft in half-degree steps once the tip decision is locked in, rather than compensating for a shaft that was never a match to begin with.

Head MOI

Moment of inertia determines how forgiving a head is on off-center strikes. Higher-MOI heads resist twisting on mishits; lower-MOI heads suit players who like to shape shots on demand.

Grip Size

An oversized or undersized grip quietly changes hand action through impact, which can shift face angle at contact. We check it on every driver session.

What a Tip-First Fitting Can Fix

Shots That Feel Late

A tip section that recovers too slowly for your transition can leave the clubhead still loading when it should already be square, which shows up as inconsistent face angle at contact.

Low, Knuckling Flight

Insufficient launch and spin often trace back to a tip that's stiffer than your transition calls for. Rig-matched tip response typically resolves this before loft even needs to change.

Ballooning in the Wind

A tip that's too soft for a fast, aggressive transition can add spin you don't need, sending shots up and back and exposing them to wind. Matching taper ratio to your delivery flattens it.
